Scholarship Funds
At Jasper’s English Classes, we strive to provide opportunities for students to improve their English skills, build confidence, and achieve their personal and academic goals.
Some young learners may need additional financial support to participate. Our scholarship opportunities are available to qualified individuals who are enrolled in our in-person group English classes in Oaxaca. Your donation helps provide scholarships and educational assistance to students who may otherwise face barriers to accessing these opportunities.
Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference. We warmly welcome your support and thank you for helping us create more opportunities for youth in our community through English education.

Physical donations are also warmly welcomed. We appreciate contributions such as ESL textbooks, bilingual English-Spanish learning materials, school supplies, pencils, pens, markers, erasers, colored pencils, dry erase markers, notebooks, folders, stickers, educational games and toys, classroom resources, and other materials that support student learning.

For international shipments, the recipient's tax identification information may be required for customs clearance. If required, please contact us before shipping so we can provide the appropriate information.
We recommend using a reliable international courier service such as DHL or FEDEX, as these services tend to provide the most consistent delivery and customs support.
Please do not send food items, clothing, or electronics. These types of donations may be subject to customs delays/rejections, import taxes or customs fees, which could create additional costs for our school.

Your Donation Makes a Difference
Meet Kenia
Kenia is 10 years old and comes from an Indigenous rural village in the mountains outside of Oaxaca. Her family is part of the Chinanteco Indigenous community, and Chinanteco—an Indigenous language of Oaxaca—is her first language. When Kenia’s mother moved the family to the city in search of better educational opportunities, she brought with her the hope of creating a brighter future for her children. Today, her mother runs her own taco stand while supporting Kenia and her siblings.
Kenia is trilingual, speaking Chinanteco, Spanish, and now learning English. She helps care for her younger siblings, assists her mother at the taco stand, and enjoys going to school. Although English pronunciation can be challenging, Kenia loves learning new vocabulary and practicing with her friends.
When she grows up, Kenia hopes to become a police officer so she can help others. She understands that learning English will allow her to communicate with more people, support visitors and members of her community, and create new opportunities throughout her career.
Your donation can help more Indigenous students like Kenia gain access to English classes, empowering them with new skills while honoring the languages and cultures that make Oaxaca unique.

Scholarship Applications

Scholarships are available only to qualified students enrolled in our in-person group English classes in Oaxaca. Scholarship funds provide tuition support and are paid directly to the school to cover enrollment costs, classroom supplies, and educational resources. Scholarship funds are not provided as cash payments to students.
Scholarship Requirements:

Must be enrolled in or accepted into our in-person group English classes in Oaxaca.

Must demonstrate financial need.

Must submit an essay in Spanish or English explaining their financial need and how the scholarship will support and contribute to their English learning journey.

Must be willing to meet with donors through video conferences to share their learning experience.

Must provide progress reports and updates to sponsors.

Scholarship recipients are required to meet minimum attendance standards and maintain satisfactory academic progress.
Scholarship recipients will receive educational support while helping donors see the impact of their contribution through meaningful connections and progress updates.

Volunteer Information
We do not currently offer paid employment opportunities. Our teaching positions are volunteer-based and designed for students seeking to gain classroom experience/practicum hours while pursuing their TEFL/TESOL certification (Teaching English as a Foreign Language / Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).
